Our Carbon Footprint

We are committed to eliminating avoidable plastic waste where possible.

Whilst we know there is a place for plastic in our lives (the recycled kind), we make a concerted effort here at Little Petite to reduce our carbon footprint by choosing to use sustainable packaging. Whilst we cannot stop waste production entirely, we can make a significant effort to minimise the amount we contribute.

Cardboard Boxes

All our boxes are made from recycled content. Where possible, we will often reuse boxes we have received from our own suppliers (amongst other packaging materials), because we love to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Don't be surprised if you receive your order in a reused box - it's just us doing our little bit to pay it forward to the planet!

Bio-Degradable Bags

We use both sendle & heapsgood eco-mailer products. Both are made from corn starch and are fully biodegradable - meaning they completely break down! Yup, that’s right, both these mailers look like plastic and feel a bit like plastic, but they’re made from 100% biodegradable and compostable materials.

Once your finished with these clever little satchels, don't throw them away, instead take off the label and pop them in with your food scraps. The satchels will biodegrade within 90 days in a regular home composting process.

Carbon Neutral Deliveries

As consumers, we often don't consider the environmental impact of our online shopping deliveries, but the logistics involved generate a huge amount of CO2. Over 10% of global CO2e emissions are from transport and logistics alone!

With this in mind, where possible, we will use sendle as our preferred logistics partner to dispatch our little boxes of pure happiness across Australia as they are certified to be 100% Carbon Neutral.

When importing to Australia from our lovely suppliers across the world, we use DHL as they offer a "Go Green Climate Neutral Offset" service.

Occasionally, we will ship some products directly through our distribution partners, both within Australia & abroad. As we have a global customer base, there will be times where it makes environmental sense to dispatch certain items directly from our supplier.

Most importantly, this ties in with our sustainability ethos. It saves unnecessary travel on a product and means we use less waste and overall packaging in the long run.
